This Diwali: write a little, grow a little, celebrate a lot. The Plantable Seed Pencils – Set of 5 (Diwali Edition) from Purple & Pure are eco-friendly pencils made from recycled paper with a seed capsule at the end. Each pencil comes in a festive Happy Diwali seed paper sleeve. When the pencil gets too short to use, plant it instead of throwing it away, and it grows into a plant.
What's in the set
- 5 plantable seed pencils made from recycled paper, each in a different colour
- Each pencil in its own Happy Diwali seed paper sleeve
- Seeds: fennel, tomato, mustard, fenugreek and marigold (one variety per pencil, printed on the pencil)
- S$18 per set of 5
How to plant it
When the pencil is too short to use, push it into a pot of soil at an angle of about 45 degrees, with the seed capsule end down. Water it and the capsule dissolves, releasing the seeds. Keep the pot in sunlight and a new plant appears within a few days to two weeks. The seed paper sleeve can be torn up and planted too.
Who it's for
Diwali corporate gifts and giveaways for staff and clients in Singapore, Deepavali return gifts and door gifts, and festive gifts for students, teachers, kids, family and friends.
Complete your Diwali gift
Pair the pencils with the Plantable Seed Pens – Set of 5 (Diwali Edition), the Plantable Notebook Set – Diwali Edition or a Plantable Diwali Greeting Card, or see all Deepavali gifts.
Frequently asked questions
What is a plantable seed pencil?
It is a pencil made from recycled paper with a seed capsule at the end instead of an eraser. You use it like a normal pencil, then plant the stub so the seeds grow.
Are these good Diwali giveaways for an office, school or event in Singapore?
Yes. They are useful, affordable, low-waste and come in festive Happy Diwali sleeves, so they work well as Deepavali corporate giveaways, door gifts and return gifts.
What do the pencils grow into?
Fennel, tomato, mustard, fenugreek and marigold, one variety per pencil. Marigold is the flower of Diwali garlands and rangoli.
